As the Year 8's came back from the Chosen Valley Camp most of Room 5 was pretty excited about coming back to the city and coming back to school for the rock candy experiment and to see how well the candy jars went.Most of the jars went quite well as the other classes got jealous over the rock candy's .

Room 5 Update
Wow! It's been a super busy term and we're only 8 days from finishing it-crazy!
Here's a bit of what's been happening in the world of Room 5:
We went away on camp in Week 6 and we had a great time, lots of challenges, fun and sun (thank goodness). Chosen Valley was a really cool spot to be away for the week and we felt like we were ages away from Auckland.
Our intermediate 80's theme social was last week and we all had an awesome time dressing up and dancing the night away. We had lots of style that would have made the 80's proud.
The Intermediate Literacy Quiz was also last week and our theme was 'Adventure' and we had to put the colour 'Red' into our theme, so we chose to theme our quiz team and table 'Alice In Wonderland'. As the Queen of Hearts wears a lot of red, we created lots of costumes based around that.
For Maths, we are finishing our Zoo Projects that have helped us to use budgeting, measuring and geometry in context. It has been a huge learning curve for us all.
Well, that's a about it for this term. We're all looking forward to the Arts Festival and Writers Festival coming up in Term 3. We'll tell you more about that then,

What's up in ROOM 5 THE HIVE in Week 2
We have two new counselors in our class and they are Ben and Josh, they are both house captains and are both looking forward to working with the council.
In Maths we have gotten into groups for our strand project where we make a zoo. We use geometry and measurement to build and create a zoo and also make the most money for our zoo.
In a few weeks there is camp, woohoo! We are heading off to Motutapu where we will be staying for a week.We will be pushing everyone to their limits, swimming in cold water, abseiling and
The aims teams were selected on Monday and congrats to everyone who got in.

Goodbye term 1, hello term 2!
Our fantastic room is buzzing away into term 2. Lots of fun things await us, all of us have already started on Maths, Reading, Writing and P4C and we want to get on with more fun. Speaking of fun, camp is coming and we'll be doing lots of fun things to do so don't miss it.
